Single Project Snapshots

On this page:

Selecting a Project

When importing a Project configuration snapshot containing only a single project, you need to select a project on which Configuration Manager to apply the configuration. You can deploy single-project snapshots in two different modes: Merge Project and New Project modes.

For the Merge Project mode, the deployment starts with selecting a target project on which the configuration will be applied. A dropdown will appear on the page from which you can choose any current Jira instance.

For the New Project mode, Configuration Manager creates a project on the target system identical to the source project from the snapshot.

Project Configuration Snapshot

Merge Project Mode

  1. By default, the single-project deployment starts in "Merge Project" mode.

  2. Select a project on which the configuration will be applied.

  3. Click Next to proceed to the Analyze page.

New Project Mode

  1. Choose the "New Project" option.

  2. Enter a name for the new project on the target system (Configuration Manager, by default, offers the project name from the snapshot).

  3. Click Next to proceed to the Analyze page.

Project with Issues Snapshot

Merge Project Mode

Configuration Manager allows you to include issue data in project snapshots. Project with Issues snapshots can be imported in "Merge" mode if the target project does not contain any issues or if new issues can be added incrementally. Otherwise, such snapshots are always deployed in the "New Project" mode.

Issue attachments can also be included in the snapshot. Read more about Moving Attachments here.

New Project Mode

Project with Issues snapshots will be imported in "New Project" mode if the projects on the target system already contain issues.

Issue attachments can also be included in the snapshot. Read more about Moving Attachments here.
